Operations Order

SITUATION

Use this space to identify: (1)Enemy Forces (Capabilities & Identifiers); (2) Friendly Forces: (Location(s), Means of Communication, Capabilities, Identifiers); (3) Attachments and Detachments: (Operators attached to or detached from your team / Assets attached to your team)

MISSION

Provides a clear and concise statement of what the team must accomplish. The mission statement is the heart of the order and should answer the following five (5) questions:

EXECUTION

Assign tasks and Point Of Main Effort (POME). In the first subparagraph give a general summary of the mission plan or operational concept. In succeeding subparagraph assign tasks and timeframes for missions/tasks to be completed. Finish with instructions for coordinating movements to and from location.
This is a general explanation of the mission plan; includes a brief outline of the mission from start to conclusion, type of mission(s) and required support.
The specific tasks to be accomplished by the team will be listed in a separate numbered subparagraph. This will include a checklist of all applicable forms, documents and vaccinations that are required to be completed and submitted by a specific date.
The specific instructions that apply to the team’s travel orders; includes date the team is to report, date they are to depart, and any other tasks that pertain to the mission.

ADMINISTRATIVE AND LOGISTICS

Funding, lodging, transportation, rally points, evacuation, assigned duties, personnel and miscellaneous.
Amount each Operator is responsible for (ie. Flights, Flight Insurance, Subsistence while travelling to and from mission location, Per-diem while OCONUS)
Where the rally points are upon arrival, and while on task. Be as specific as possible to identify what to expect when arriving in country (Visa, Customs, Searches, Pick-up point)
Location of Lodging, Source of Food and Water, What is provided for the team, What is needed to be provided by the team, Uniform of the Day.
